reminiscent obsessive times

I wanted to just make a little personal post (not that my blog isn't already personal) to just go off and ramble about things. You know just to get so many things off my chest before the year ends. I bought myself Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson the day of Cyber Monday, you know just to take advantage of the sales. I was going to buy it anyways since I am a Lady Gaga fan, so might as well get it for a smaller price. The book contains so many beautiful pictures taken by the photographer during his time following Lady Gaga. The photos are of the artist during her tour of The Monster Ball. I personally loved the book, but this is coming from a Lady Gaga fan, so it's kind of biased.

I fell in love with this ring that Gaga wore in one of the pictures. It is a diamond encrusted snake ring, and I just looked at it for hours. Even when I was done looking at the book, I still went back to this picture because it was just too wonderful to stop looking at.  I also really enjoyed Gaga's nail color. My New Year's resolution this coming year is to end my evil habit of biting on my fingernails, because it's just a terrible habit that is so not chic. ANYWAYS, I've been reading on how to stop and I get so many suggestions like jalapeño juice on my fingers (yuck!), hypnosis (umm...weird..), or some bitter substance that can get you addicted to the taste. I decided to go for the fun method...painting your nails. The psychological theory is that if you see that your nails are nicely painted, you wont want to ruin them. I've always been so jealous of the fact that girls can paint their nails as normally as they breathe, but if guys do it's just a little weird. So I'm just going ahead and getting my nails painted to avoid having ugly nails. I plan on getting them in the color pictured below, just because I founded to stylish and chic. I'll talk more about my nail artistry as we cross that bridge.

I fell in love with the necklace that Gaga sports in the picture below. I actually had seen it before when the paparazzi pictures were shown online of her shopping while wearing the necklace. So it was only natural that I fell in love all over again with it when I saw it pictured in the book. I made a mental note of it, and moved with my life. I honestly forgot about it UNTIL I saw Chloë Sevigny had a similar necklace. Even though hers was made out of a metal, I found out where I could find a similar necklace. She explained it was from a sex shop in LA. So I went back to my not so little Gaga book, and gazed at the necklace once more.  I just knew I had to find my own! I looked up several bondage/sex shops in the San Francisco area (naturally, there was a lot...since it is San Francisco and all). After much research I started doubting if I would be allowed into one of these sex shops since I am underage. Then I started doubting if I would feel comfortable among all these adults buying sex toys, while little ol' me is trying to look nice and cute with a bondage collar. I finally gave up on my idea and started looking online for one. I couldn't find one exactly like Gaga's or Chloë's but I did find some that I liked. They were just too pricey, and since they weren't exactly what I wanted I decided I should just wait until I come across the perfect one. Hoping that is soon, since I don't know how much more long this fetish trend will last. Maybe once I'm 18 I will venture with one of my friends to look for one.

I have a confession to make...I am addicted to looking at pictures of nails, hair, and lips. I almost always pay attention to these features on people I meet in real life too. I found every aspect of this picture was made for my love. I love the color in Gaga's hair, and the color of her nails. I've always really liked the shape of her lips, and even her teeth. I've even told myself that I'm going to get teeth just like her's if I have the money for it.

My other obsession is EYES! I love looking at eye shapes. I love doodling eyes, and makeup on eyes. My Government notes for school consist of 75% government related notes and 25% pictures of eyes with wonderful exaggerated cat-eye eyeliner. I don't think my teacher would appreciate it if he saw my notes, but it's not just in Government. For as long as I can remember the margins of my notes are always covered with eyes. So one day while I was at my mom's friend's house, I was bored (and when I get bored I tend to yawn, and when I yawn I tend to cry) so I had all these tears running down my cheeks and had nothing to do with them. So the little model inside of me stated taking pictures of myself crying. I wasn't crying because I was sad but I took the pictures to make it look like I had just rewatched My Sister's Keeper.  The picture below is so cool in my opinion because the tears made my eyelashes stick together giving me a natural Twiggy look. I also think I resemble some sort of Virgin Mary in the picture, looking up at the heavens.

Okay so remember how I told you guys about my SF shopping experience?? Well here is one of my purchases that I have been dying to show you guys. I have another obsession...yes FUR! Well I only own faux fur because I thought I was against buying real fur, but lately I've been having my doubts and see myself wanting the real thing. I just hope it's me being psycho because even though I despise PETA, I love animals. So this jacket is faux, and I really love it. This picture doesn't do the colors justice (I didn't want to show you guys the real thing until I posted it in an outfit post), but I just love it's colors. It has these puffy shoulders that I could do without, but it's still beautiful.

This picture of this McQueen jacket came to my mind when I was buying my coat. I just think it was the mood and look of the whole collection that was registered in my mind when I saw the coat.

The four pictures above are from a little journal I have. I called it my lookbook. I would spend my time in math class, and anywhere else just cutting magazines apart and pasting them in my little lookbook. I did this during Junior year. Just a little before I started this blog, I really stopped working in my lookbook. I recently came across it again and went through it. These are some of my favorite pages. If I had the time I would continue on and finish it, but I just don't anymore. Maybe during the summer, or in college..HA doubt it! Actually looking back at pictures from that year...makes me really miss it.

So like you know I got the Monster Ball DVD and I've already watched it a couple times, and I always love this shot. It really shows the difference between Gaga and the other people in the store. I think I can relate to it, just because this is how I feel at times in my town. Like the comparison of the two pairs of shoes...(no not better than the others..) but like I'm from a whole different world. It's truly fascinating how different I am from the people around me. Yeah I seem pretty normal huh? Well maybe the people in my town are just a little weird with their Stussy clothes.

I found this picture on Instagram, which you can follow me on btw (punkius is my username), and I didn't know if to be scared or delighted. It's an Instagram that is only pictures of this cat in Japan. My first reaction was this frightened shock, but then I fell in love with the cute little kitty. Sigh...only in Japan. I think I love it so much because I love black cats because I have an obsession with panthers.

Well that's really all my obsessions...well I have more but these are the only personal pictures I had to demonstrate them. I'll tell you guys more as I go along writing on this blog. You guys can make like a list and turn into a game. VICTOR'S OBSESSIONS!

I just want to take some time to thank all of you who read my blog regularly, although you guys don't really comment anymore (hisss!), I still see your views and it means a lot. It's so cool that people from all around the world look at PUNKIUS. I am beyond humbled by this opportunity. I never knew that this blog would get so many views, it's really nice. Thank you!

I've also already seen a couple of blogs on Tumblr naming themselves PUNKIUS, which even though it's super annoying it's a little flattering. However this is the only PUNKIUS, there is no Tumblr named PUNKIUS that represents this blog. My Tumblr is posted on the side bar. Seeing as I did come up with the styling of the blog's name, I would appreciate if some you stopped copying it. Be original guys!

THANK YOU AGAIN, and hope to have this good of a success with PUNKIUS in 2012. I am working on this special project for next year, it's a book/novel post. It's going to tell a time in my life, through diamond lens (aka details are filled in with glamour). Can't wait for all of you to see it.

japanese lunatic tea house クレイジー

Time and time again, we are reminded of the tsunami in Japan. However, as time passes we forget about the people affected. Before I continue on to express my weird thought process, I want to remind you to pray for those in Japan as they continue their journey to get over the destruction. If you can please donate to those in need. Even if it is not for those in Japan, please donate.

I've been DYING to make a post on here with this shirt. I love it to death. Not only because it comes from NYC, or because Gaga designed it, but the Japanese characters swooned me. I spent a day on eBay looking for a perfect person to buy one from, seeing as I can't go to NYC, and since they were sold out. OH AND FOR THE REASON THAT UNIQLO DOESN'T HAVE A U.S. ONLINE STORE! Once I found one, I put a bet but was later outbid and the price raised to like $30 which is gave the seller a bigger profit, and I wanted to help Japan, not some bored rich kid with UNIQLO connections. So I found another one, that sold for only $27 with S&H.

After about a week of waiting for to win the shirt, and another 3 days of it coming in, I was PROUD to hold it in my arms. I've actually haven't worn it outside my own home, because I want it to be a part of a more intricate outfit, and not a simple one like the one shown here. Which I will explain more later on this post.

My idea for this whole shoot, was to create a crazy feeling, but with a nicer, neat setting. The simplicity of the outfit highlights the oddity of being dressed like that for a nice "tea party" (the one that was going on in my mind). I wanted to seem lost, vain, and inconsiderate.

So I am this lonely party (the only person there), but in my mind it is full of the best people to ever exist.

I also wanted to create this ominous atmosphere. I decided to move the decoration around in our living room, to make everything seem a little more empty, and almost contradicting at times. The cross and the painting to me where contradictions. Not only in size but also in other reasons as well.

I stood on our couch to also elaborate on this idea of being rude at a party going on in my head, while in reality I just look like a lunatic posing and jumping on my living room couch. I really wanted to portray a story in a way.
The glasses add to the whole lunatic idea. The over-sized lenses are almost vulgar for a party like the one going on in my head.

I created this image of darkness seeping through from the other side of the room onto the lighter side. It was totally a yin-yan effect, which again relates back to the Japanese influence. You can see a juxtaposition in the setting if you were to look closely. I took pictures in both B&W and in color to also see two different points of view. Notice how while in color, my expression seems lost uncomfortable, the B&W version is a little more confident and careless.

I want to address something to my readers, and to the people who have commented on my blog via Tumblr.

Many people have been sending me anonymous messages on Tumblr saying that my blog is a joke. That my ideas are great, but that my clothes and/or style aren't good enough. So I ask, who decides what good enough is? Obviously not someone who hides behind an anonymous feature. This is my blog and I decide what to put on it.

I understand that my outfits have been very simple, but that is me during the summer. SIMPLE. During the summer I plan what I'm going to wear for Fall/Winter, which is when I get more creative. My summer is like my chrysalis. I take on a more simpler look to make way for bigger things in the future. I just don't see the point in wasting money on clothes that I can only wear for a few months. So this blog's full potential doesn't really come out till Fall and after. So don't call me ghetto, or tacky, because you haven't seen a lot from me yet. Plus, I am far from ghetto so don't go around throwing words at my blog. Being a male fashion blogger is really much harder than being female blogger. Girls can wear skirts, pants, dresses, and shorts. Guys? Well they CAN wear everything a girl wears but traditionally it's only shorts and pants. Most guys won't wear dresses and skirts. So when you can't experiment with bottoms, you have to experiment with tops and in the summer you can't wear too much due to the weather. So stop commenting on my NEW blog, and either never look at it again or wait until I post more. New Fall posts should start in September, which I find very exciting.

So the boots that I wear here have quite a funny story. My dad originally bought them for my brother in brown, but he didn't like them so I got them. Once I tried them on I decided that they didn't fit. So my dad said he would look for another pair at the place he bought them. He told me they sold them in black and brown. I said black, but then wanted brown, but I also wanted the black. However, my dad convinced me that I had too many brown shoes. So I stuck with the black, but he bought the brown ones for himself. He is only .5 a size bigger than me, so it's like I have 2 new boots! YEY! He hides his though, even though I found them and wear them whenever I want. I love my black ones though, and have become a summer favorite.

Here is a better picture of the Japanese characters on my shirt. Don't ask me what it says, I dont know. I want to believe it is just gibberish.

I leave you with a vain picture of myself. The ever so popular mirror picture.
